      I'm part of an intentional community focused on doing practical research into sustainability at the small community level. We're working with integrated food systems, with the conversion of biomass into fuel and the challenge of creating sustainable social structure.  We're located on 131 acres edging on the Cascadian wilderness about 80 miles east of Portland, Or.

     I especially like the way this lifestyle gives me the time to go for long walks in the morning, the opportunity to work with animals and garden almost year round, and the chance to sit around the woodstove with friends sharing a cup of tea and good conversation.
